You can also keep the VPN running in the background while the dashboard and app are closed. Another option lets TunnelBear automatically create a connection when it detects an unsecured website as you browse. One of these turns on the kill switch and lets TunnelBear keep your information hidden as it attempts to reconnect you to the VPN. Under the Settings tab, there are several protocol options. There is a list of server locations, but it isn’t the easiest to find (it’s at the top next to the On/Off button.) The dashboard also shows the amount of data left of your monthly limit. The desktop interface of TunnelBear Free isn’t cluttered, but it does take a moment to realize that the map you’re looking at is how you find and connect to the desired server location.
